Artist History
Electric Ottoman was formed in the summer of 1996 as just a daydream on a hot night. Aaron Lindstrom and Ethan Smithsat in the college town of Madison, Wisconsin where they had just finished playing with their own successful bands. In order to carry out the daydream of a musically diverse yet progressive band, Ethan and Aaron set out for Seattle Washington in hopes of a bigger and better scene (a scene without dairy cows). After a year of working on four-track recordings with only beat tracks for rhythm, they sought out a drummer. This is where the band found Aaron Nicoles who had just graduated from Cornish University with an emphasis in jazz drumming. From there on the now functioning band made a practice space and got downto the business of building a set and a sound. It took working with a few different members to find the right mix. After 1 year of recording and playing live, Electric Ottoman is finally ready to make a push with new music and an original sound. |
