Artist description
12 Step Staircase is primarily one member: Craig Strassburg. I have been in and out of several bands and also have numerous other projects on the internet. 12ss is a way for me to get some feedback on many of the experiments I have done very late at night :) |
|
Music Style
12ss' music borrows from many different styles, although it is all very experimental work. Every day I drift a bit further from reality, so there is really no telling what will come next... |
|
Musical Influences
The subconscious and her twin sister Anna Mae... I am also influenced by several substances as well, though there may be far too many to mention. |
|
Similar Artists
I don't actually sound like any of these groups, though these are the popular groups I listen to these days: NIN, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Soft Cell, Foetus, Prince, Pig, Skinny Puppy, Tool, APC, etc. |

Artist History
The 12 Step Project began with a live band which formed in the year 1996. Many of the concepts and lyrics I had created all began with this band, and when the group disbanded later that year, I looked for another way to take those ideas further. So I took them out on my computer. It will never forgive me. |
|
Group Members
Craig Strassburg, mostly everything. Reyhan Ricklefs and Sean Adams appear as guests every now and then, and strangely enough, I have never met either of them. |
|
Instruments
Roland Xp-30, Korg ES-1, Korg EA-1, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and a ton of software that i paid several thousands of dollars for because i am so very rich. or not. |

Press Reviews
Ranging from brutal, experimental Industrial music to introspective and haunting ambient soundscapes, 12 Step Staircase also incorporates live guitars, basses, and he doesn't shy from composing experimental classical music. Sans vocals, his music is strong enough to evoke more images than words themselves could supply. - Will L., www.listen.com |
