    Artist History
As soon as his mom bought him his first electrified guitar(at 15) it was pretty much all over for Robbie Jaramillo, songwriter, multi-instrumental musician, and solo performer under the name Vicky's Packed Lunch(taken from a friend's story about how his little sister used to write on the outside of her lunch sack to identify and claim ownership of her lunch and list the contents within). Robbie's high school grades fell, his social butterfly status stripped for the more favorable and fitting dark rock star wanna-be status. After musical adventures in local cover bands and high school jazz choirs Robbie graduated(barely) and spent a year preparing himself for a big move that would humble him and teach him more about the instrument that means the most to him, his guitar. At age 18, Robbie moved to Los Angeles, California to find a teacher who could open his eyes to new sonic territory and how to use it without losing melodic integrity. He found that teacher in Tony Newton, innovator of NovaPhonic Sound(melodic music structure based on only perfect fourths and perfect fifths{Tony Newton has some some music posted on MP3.com, look for it}). After learning all he could from this musical guru, Robbie set his sights on letting his music take him where it would. It took him back to Nebraska for a few years to experience life's ups and downs, this helped Robbie forge life into his first debut solo album "Silence" which he distributed locally and only made a few copies for friends, anyone who was interested, and the local record stores. They sold out quickly and he went back into the studio to create another solo record. His second album got put on hold by an invitation to join a regional rock band named Major Rager. He jumped at the chance to play live in a great group so he took time off from recording and Raged on for a few years. After Major Rager, Robbie headed for Durango, Colorado for his job and fell in love with the town, the music scene, and a most beautiful woman. He stayed there for a while and got into mountain biking, hiking, and life without practicing every day. Then his job took him to the Texas gulf coast where he started surfing everyday there were waves, gained a phat suntan, lost his sight of his music, lost his job, and lost his beautiful girlfriend. His interest was sparked by some friends back in Nebraska who sent him a demo tape of their musical project. They wanted to start a band and wanted Robbie to join. Robbie was blown away by what he heard and quickly quit his job, sold his surfboard, left everything behind except his musical gear, and headed back for the thriving metropolis of Scottsbluff. He helped form the first incarnation of the group which called themselves Blue Z. They put out two albums and played quite a few shows. The second incarnation went by the name Superuser(which have their music posted here at MP3.com) and they stayed together for quite a few years. In July of 2001 Superuser disbanded, and Robbie headed into his studio to record some new music. The results of which have been posted here at Vicky's Packed Lunch, Robbie's solo normal music, and at MP3.com/Day After Death Dream, which is Robbie's darker stranger music. Right now Robbie is on the road with his newly formed band, Black The Sky, touring South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado.

    Press Reviews
"Since the break-up of Superuser Robbie, between creative projects, has put together some tight little songs that sing with melodic praises and retributions for the world with silly, but everyday, real dispairities. His words nod deeply at the heart-on-your-sleeve-wearin' crowd. You hear remnants of the recent past in his voice and guitar. Touches of Mike Patton, Geoff Tate, and Billy Corgan float around his vocal tone-age. Little pieces of Frank Zappa, Joe Satriani, and B.B. King fall off his guitar. His ambition to keep writing, playing, and performing will be lucrative for him. Not so much from a money-making standpoint, but more from a mind satisfied that he's never satisfied by staying in one musical place for too long kind of standpoint". Yrene G. (a friend)
