Artist description
At 24, Kristy Apps is proving to be one of Brisbane's strongest talents. Kristy's desire to perform
started early on, playing the Brisbane café scene in an acoustic duo. After
devoting the last three years to her band, Mirrortri, Kristy has decided to
focus on her solo career. Her music is full of energy and passion, singing straight
from her heart. Kristy performs all of her own material. Her sound would be
best described as alternative folk rock. Her music is political and strong,
yet vulnerable and true. "Kristy doesn't play music, it plays her" (published
1998 Dykewise). |

Press Reviews
"Brisbane grrl Kristy Apps, is a 24 year old rocker with original, uncensored political lyrics
that cut like a knife. Confronting topics such as "honour killings" of women,
indigenous rights (or lack thereof) and equality in relationships, Kristy is
the boldest young Australian women's songwriter that I have heard in my six
years in the music business" -- Bobbie Casey, City Hub (Sydney), October 2000 |
