Artist History JON RAVEN-READY TO FLY The energy and commanding vocal ability of Jon Raven always shines through with his infectious, driving Country Roots Rock sound. His knack for melody and stick-in-your head hooks, obviously gleans from countless hours spent culling his lifetime of varied influences and inspiration, which he effortlessly drifts between with skilled precision. Jon’s songs ooze with passion and life, and reveal tender lyrics penned with a heart clearly on the sleeve of his dusty denim jacket. A television appearance out of Nashville, TN at just 16 years of age was the catalyst to young Jon’s belief that he could make his dream a reality. Several years later, Jon was packing his bags and moving from his small Nova Scotia, Canada hometown to pursue bigger things in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Jon threw himself within the music industry in the largest city in Canada and found himself with some of the best performance opportunities available. Jon’s voice and engaging live performances have been turning heads for several years, gathering a devoted audience and garnering respect from industry peers. He’s shared the stage with prominent artists such as Jeff Healey, Steve Fox, Lisa Brokop, Jeff Carson, Jamie Warren, John Gracie, Natalie MacMaster, Lennie Gallant, Gordie Sampson, Tommy Cash, David Frizell, and Julian Austin to name a few. Jon has been a very active participant in songwriter’s showcases in the Canada and the USA. He has performed at the most prestigious showcases available in Canada including The East Coast Music Awards 72 Hour JAM, Canadian Music Week and the infamous NXNE music festivals to name a few. Other highlights include CMT’s “Project Discovery”, KICX-FM’s Starquest”, Nashville’s “StarSeek” and “Wildhorse Saloon Sing To Win.” Raven moved to the music city of Nashville, TN in the early days of 2003 and has been performing at various venues. Currently working with a well known producer to further hone his Americana Country Roots Rock sound and to take him to the next level in order to get signed. Jon recently has been endorsed by Gibson guitars and has been added to the Gibson artist roster. With his unique and powerful voice, Jon hopes to soon secure his place among the ranks of today’s top international performers.
