Artist description
John O'Reilly Jr. is an extremely talented musician currently living in Brooklyn, NY.
He enjoys playing all styles of music and is constantly trying to involve himself in
as many varied musical situations as he can. He plays drums, percussion, and is
adept at music synthesis and programming. When he needs to, John plays violin,
guitar, bass, and keyboards. He's comfortable both in the studio and in live
performance situations and loves you more than I think you know. Really. |

Artist History
John O'Reilly Jr. grew up in Los Angeles, CA, though he was born in Amityville, NY.
John's first instrument was piano, though his first serious musical study was on
violin, starting at about age 11. This study lasted until he went to college at ASU,
where he made the shocking decision to focus his studies on drums and jazz music.
Percussion had always been a part of John's world, with his dad's drumset hanging
around the house his whole life (John Sr. was his first teacher), so this decision
wasn't really all that shocking (I was kidding about that). From here, John just
played and played as much as he could, and was fortunate to hook up with some great
players and teachers in the Phoenix, AZ and Los Angeles, CA areas. John now lives
in New York City, and continues to play constantly. He loves it, and yes, he loves you. |

Press Reviews
My favorite quote is "I don't know where he gets off being so talented and thinking
he's normal" from Jamal Ruhe in a Phoenix New Times article written just before I
moved to Boston. For the full article, go to
