Artist description DJ Evolve is a composer, remixer, and multi-instrument performer, playing drumset, piano, turntables, beatbox, and guitar. As a DJ, Evolve has shared the decks with Victor Dinaire, Phantom 45, CosmicBoy, Rinse, Siren, and Rod Carillo performing nationally at raves, concerts, and AZ clubs like Freedom, Plush, and Heart Five. As a composer and producer of original music, he has released three full length albums and has written music for theatre and film. His award winning Drum & Bass and Trance compositions have been performed live at the 2002 UA Composers Concerts and on AZsessions.com. Evolve produces and performs his original music using an electronic drumset and hardware and software synthesizers, as well as live guitar, turntablism, drums, and strings. The music is equally aggressive and uplifting and brings together elements of Drum & Bass, Trance, Break-beat, Trip Hop, and Jazz. DJ Evolve (28) started spinning records in 1994 in Orlando, FL, influenced by the local electronic music culture headed by Andy Hughes, Christopher Rayce, DJ Icey, and AK 1200. After a move to AZ in '97 he began composing electronica and studying Bop drumset, Classical piano, and music theory. DJ Evolve holds a BA in music and writes for the electronic music journal, Liquid Volume Magazine. Studio includes: Nord Rack synthesizer, Roland TD5 electronic drumset, Zildjian cymbals, Technics 1200's turntables, Numark EM260 dj mixer w/ Korg Kaoss Pad, Boss SP202 sampler, DOD FX7 signal processor, Soundblaster GM soundcard/ synthesizer, Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, Retro, Acid, Reaktor, Recycle, Sound Forge, and various acoustic instruments including guitar and percussion.
