Artist History
She has been writing songs and playing the piano since the days of "Leave it to Beaver." In college, missing her piano, she taught herself guitar, originally intending to be "another Joan Baez." Enrolling in college a second time, after receiving her B.A. in Psychology, she majored in music and studied classical guitar and voice. After receiving her A.A. in Music, she began work as a music instructor and as a country club pianist, playing at both Bel Air and Riviera in Los Angeles. This led to her decision to study jazz piano & singing, soon switching heroes from Joan Baez to Marian McPartland and Ella Fitzgerald. Since 1983, she has released a single (45 r.p.m.), 6 albums--including 1 CD in 2001, and 2 children's books with cassettes. Living on the southern Oregon coast, she befriends many animals and continues to write and record original songs & arrangements. |
