Artist History
The last note rings out and dies...the last cymbal crash fades away...the five members of ACOLDERYEAR look each other in the eyes and breathe heavily, almost in relief as one 3:20 session of therapy ends and another begins. "That's basically what being in a band and playing music is to us, therapy," says guitarist William Pawul. "That's what I think drives us, the desire to heal and grow as people, friends, and musicians." And that's just what the band has been doing since it's inception, licking it's wounds and growing into what has become the group ACOLDERYEAR.
Broken hearts, broken homes, shattered dreams and missed opportunities. These are the fuels that make up the aggressive yet heartfelt sound of ACOLDERYEAR. With emotion laden lyrics, soaring vocals, crashing screams, searing guitars and roaring melodies, ACOLDERYEAR writes songs that make you crush your fists and that speak to your heart. Spawned from the blistering summers and frozen winters of Cleveland, Ohio ACOLDERYEAR has perfected an intense live show that has drawn them a solid loyal fanbase. Touring and supporting major acts and leaving the audiences wanting more, the band has proved they have what it takes to leave their mark.
In late 2001 the band found themselves joining forces with Jeff Battaglia Management (Disturbed, Stereomud, Unloco). With management aboard and helping to give direction to the young band, ACY went in the studio to record a new demo. Armed with 2 songs they began work on "the Smart Sessions" recorded by Mike Zirkel (Promise Ring) at Smart Studios in Madison, WI. The demo, having gained the band attention in the music industry, helped even more in moving them forward towards the path of success.
Currently, taking time to write and move back into the studio to track some new songs, ACY shows no signs of letting up and are looking forward to the future. 2003 will be ACOLDERYEAR.
