Artist description
we draw on several electro styles, starting with New Wave from the 80s,
moving to Synthpop ala Soviet and Echoing Green, and moving into the
territory of EBM and Futurepop, ala Covenant. we are also literary monks, who keep in
mind the influences of Tolkien, LeGuin, Lawhead, MacDonald, the poetry of T.S. Eliot, Robert
Lowell and Elizabeth Bishop, and the dramatic works of
Ionesco, Albee, and even Chekhov. we are called SPQR, which is pronounced
"speaker" and is a reference to the Roman Senate. |

Artist History
andy and noah started making music in the summer of 2001.
we have put out one demo, entitled Analog Angel, which
enjoyed a limited release on our very own Pattern 12 Records.
since then we have begun to find our own style and diversify
from basic techno patterns to more breakbeat oriented
rhythms with massively groove-oriented basslines. |
