Artist description
Seldom does a band emulate one of the greatest musical era's to the point of perfection that Danger Kitty demonstrates. The true love (and Devotion) for the music of The 80's is evident in the band’s ability to capture the deep feeling of all the songs.
Ever since The bands founding members Robin Crattles (percussion) & Rick Schredder (vocals) cranked out their first 80's song in 1999 it seemed destiny was afoot. The music was good, almost too good. More and more 80's songs worked their way into the set until there seemed to be enough to do a whole night. The bands first tribute concert to the 80's drew a crowd of 900 in St. Louis, MO in 1999. The show had such an incredible vibe, and the audiences response was so mind blowing, that it inspired the band to continue emulating the "Hair Spray" bands they grew up with. The set lists increased and the shows grew to four hours. As the song list grew to over 80, the band was able to start rotating songs. Increasing the mystique of the band, as fans would wonder which of the 80's works of art they would hear at any given show.
Danger Kitty has since performed on stages at fairgrounds, theaters, clubs, and speedways numbering in the hundreds. The band came to full fruition with the addition of bassist Phil McKrotch and guitarist Jimmy B., two multi-talented musicians living in the St. Louis area. Their bass, and guitar work allowed the band to venture into the realms of no other; completing the circle and elevating the band into the realms of the untouchables. Each member of Danger Kitty is musically comparable to his 80's counterpart which makes this group unique in the sense there is no weak link in the line-up.
The band has also gone to great expense to be authentic in the equipment they use. Sometimes searching all over the world to find that one instrument, or piece of equipment that the artists of the era used. Live concert recordings were studied in depth to duplicate not only a song, but a full on live experience. The hours of rehearsal, and the never say die attitude has made this band a world class tribute act, fullfilling the fantasies of many "Hair Spray" fans who never were fortunate enough to catch these megalithic rock and roll legends in their heyday. Danger Kitty pleases even the most critical of the dedicated 80's fans virtually mesmerizing them into submission. What was not expected was that Danger Kitty's biggest fans are the sceptical ones who said they would have to SEE IT TO BELIEVE anyone could ever play 80's Rock to their satisfaction. And SATISFY they DO !!! Take a look at the guestbook for examples. As allways "Push It, Push It" Over the TOP !!! |
