Artist description
CLIVE KENNEDY is the one and only British Country Music Singer and Songwriter in the World to have won so many Country Music Awards from American Country Music Associations. His multiple awards include "SONG OF THE YEAR", "SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR","VOCALIST OF THE YEAR", and "ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR".
His music embraces his British, African, and American roots - from the sophisticated cosmopolitan cities of Europe, to the primitive rural life of the bushveldt of Southern Africa, to New York, to Los Angeles, to Nashville. From Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, and Merle Haggard wailing from a battery operated record player on an isolated African farm with no electricity, to Elvis, the Beatles, and the Stones, in the discos of London.
Clive's mother was a recognized concert pianist. His father was a famous inventor. As a child, Clive dressed as a cowboy (see photo: "Clive at five")http://www.geocities.com/clivekennedy/photos.htm. These unusual elements combined to create, against the odds, a truly great "Inventor" of Country Songs.

AWARDS, HONORS & ACCOLADES
Clive is the recipient of numerous songwriting awards including the national NBC-TV show, "You Write The Songs", and the CALIFORNIA COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION (CCMA) SONG OF THE YEAR.
In 1999, Clive took the two top awards for Traditional Country Music at the CCMA Awards Ceremony; both VOCALIST OF THE YEAR and ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR. The first time any Englishman has won either one.
Clive has previously won many awards for writing and performing, including ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR and VOCALIST OF THE YEAR for the Los Angeles Region CCMA for two years running (1998 and 1999). In 1999 he won the Rising Star Award as VOCALIST OF THE YEAR for The NORTH AMERICAN COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL (NACMAI).
Earlier this year, in Tennessee, NACMAI voted Clive top honors for traditional country music, with awards for both VOCALIST OF THE YEAR (2000) AND ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR (2000) at their annual awards show at Governor's Palace, in Pigeon Forge.
In what is classified as "New Country" Clive has just been voted SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR, by the CCMA, and his song "Dear John" won the CCMA SONG OF THE YEAR award.
What makes these achievements extraordinary is that at each and every performance Clive and his band perform almost exclusively his own original (and completely unique), and increasingly popular, Country songs.
"It may be over yonder, but it ain't over yet."
