Artist History
Started in a back bedroom by Pat Courson (S.C.A.B. guitarist w/ members of COLD) and Scott King (now drummer for Atlantic Records band Superfly Rodeo). Intent was to create a heavy but melodic band that reflected the anguish of its members. Things took a turn we we hired Rob Thilmont (Chlorine) to sing. He brought a rap-influenced, melodic style that softened to overall tone of the music.
After many (8) bass players, we settled on Sean Jackson. He brought a funk style similar to a combination of Flea from RHCP and Cliff Burton from Metallica.
A couple of demos were done with the backing of a local producer. After this went nowhere, we went back on our own, writing, booking shows and making our own opportunities.
After the first two years, Scott left to pursue other musical interests. Our current manager, Cheech took over on drums for the interim. He is the drummer you here on Peruvian Deathmatch 2000.
It did not take us long to find our new permanent drummer, Brian Pearcy. This kid kills it. He was the piece of the puzzle that had been missing. Brian beat the crap out of his drums, which brought the power back to the music.
After being scouted by Fred Durst, and a couple of minor label contract offers, Buddha Stone Tribe imploded. We are no longer together, but our music is still out there. |
