Artist History
alterEGO is a 4 piece alternative, pop-punk, emo band from Eugene Oregon.
Formed in the summer of 2000, alterEGO has quickly made a name for
themselves.
In May of 2001 alterEGO released their second full length CD entitled ‘the
difference between me and you’ a follow up to their first release ‘student of the
month’. Within days of the release of ‘the difference between me and you’ the
first single ‘two years’ made it to #4 on the soundclick.com alternative charts.
Ranking above well known artists such as; Save Ferris and Nerf Herder. Now
alterEGO is hard at work practicing and playing local shows in anticipation of a
summer tour along the west coast.
alterEGO is made up of 4 members; Taylor Morden, (guitar, vocals)
Jeffery Miracle, (guitar) Gary Roberts, (Bass) and Chiff “Spaceman Spiff”
Roberts (drums).
Taylor Morden has already made a name for himself as the trumpet player
in two successful Oregon ska bands; Double-O-Seven and the Varicoasters.
Opening for such acts as: FenixTX, Reel Big Fish, Sum41, and Five Iron Frenzy.
Songs from Double-O-Seven have been featured as background music on the
MTV shows ‘the real world’ and ‘making the video’. However, for Taylor
alterEGO is in no way just a ‘side project’ His insightful and sometimes
humorous lyrics and wacky on-stage antics help make alterEGO the non-stop
crowd pleasers that they are.
Jeffrey Miracle has also made a name for himself playing in other
moderately successful local bands. Some of his guitar playing influences
include New Found Glory, the Ataris, and Blink182.
For brothers Gary and Chiff Roberts alterEGO is more than just a chance
to spend quality time with each other. They also get to play the music they love.
alterEGO was formed in the summer of 2000 when Gary and Taylor were
living together in a house full of extreme drug addicts, they began writing songs
to escape from the daily hassles that they were enduring. Gary’s brother Chiff
was the obvious choice for a drummer. They played together as a trio for about
seven months during which they released their first full length CD. Shortly
thereafter they were introduced to Jeffery Miracle through a mutual friend. Jeff
added new life to the old songs and the new songs they write together were even
better than before.
Recently, Jeff left the band to have a 'real job' in southern california, so we recruited Mat Foster from some other local band, and now were even more rockin! |
