TDC graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy {AMDA} in New York City and soon thereafter he founded his Management and Production Company, the StoneDancerGroup, Inc. TDC's work has taken him from Broadway to TV/Film. TDC's Theatre credits include the First National Tour and the Tony Award Winning Broadway production of the musical ‘RENT,’ where he performed the role of Benny. After many callbacks TDC was pleased to join the First National Tour in Boston, and traveled with them until the day the call came to bring him back to New York. Soon after his appearance in ‘RENT,’ TDC joined the cast of the Broadway Smash Hit musical, ‘Jekyll and Hyde' in the role of Jack. He was also a part of many readings for new shows, one of which, 'Josephine's Song', highlighted the wonderful contribution the life of Josephine Baker had on the entertainment industry. Long before TDC arrived on Broadway, he paid his dues performing at some of the countries top regional theatres. He played the role of Al in the St. Louis Repertory/Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park joint production of the Operetta, 'The Most Happy Fella'. This further expanded his musical taste as well as his dance background as the show required heavy Jazz Dance and Ballet technique. Soon thereafter he performed in the Alabama Shakespeare Festival's foot-stompin production of 'Five Guys Named Moe'. Not able to let go of a good thing, TDC also performed the role of the tap dancing NO MOE, in the TheatreVirginia production of ‘Five Guys’, as well. Through his years as a writer, Timothy ‘TDC’ Coleman has garnished many accolades. Most recently, TDC was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work as a songwriter on the album, ‘Here’s the Deal’ by Jazz/Funk band, Liquid Soul. The song “Stop by Monies” was chosen by the executives of NBC to be performed on Good Morning America. Simone, daughter of legendary Jazz great, Nina Simone, performed the song live on TV. The National Poetry Guild of America honored TDC for his written works by publishing his poem, 8:18 in their 2000-2001 publication for new young poets on the rise. His work has also been featured online at Poetry.com. Timothy ‘TDC’ Coleman is looking for a songwriting deal that will allow him the freedom to write and arrange for many different types of artists. His past experiences as a performer, along with his God-given talents as a writer and trained vocal arranger have brought him to the forefront of young songwriters with a distinct sound. When you hear the different styles encompassed in his songs, you will clearly see his ability to adapt his eclectic sound to enhance the talents of each artist he works with. For the month of August 2001, TDC was the featured artist on the website, www.Actorspost.com. The article was a celebration of TDC's entertainment highlights to date. In January 2002, he performed Live at NELL'S in New York City in support of his collaboration with the undeniably talented producer/songwriter CaRissa Danielle, the premier producer for ACS Productions, the song “By Your Side” was rewarded with the #3 spot on the MP3.com Soul Charts. Currently, TDC is awaiting the airdate of the new show, Rosarito Weekend, whose theme song is the featured instrumental, Long Distance Love Affair, written and produced by Timothy ‘TDC’ Coleman and Rob Rimes.
