Artist History
My name is Bradley Spurr and I’ve just put the final touches on an EP for my friend and vocalist Surekha. The EP is called ‘Listen’. The music sounds somewhere between Enya, Enigma and India. People find the music very visual, inspiring vast panoramic vistas in the mind’s eye.
We recorded the EP at my studio in Ventura, California. Surekha sang and I played keyboards, arranged the music and took care of the studio chores; recording, mixing and production. Song writing credits go to Surekha and myself.
Alabama Music Hall Of Fame inductee Ricky Hirsch, who has played with Wet Willie, Greg Allman, Cher and Billy Vera provided the guitar talent.
Surekha hails from Putaparthi, India. Being that her mother was a famous Indian movie vocalist, Surekha was raised in a musical family singing ragas and bhajans.
I first met Surekha three years ago. She was singing Indian bhajans in the Ventura Sai Baba center. I was strongly inspired to record her and found myself putting together a studio to record the project.
Surekha and I have recorded two albums for the Sai Baba organization under the name of Prema. These albums, called ‘You And I Are One’ and ‘Ananda’ have become popular with followers of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. We wanted to share our music with a much wider audience (ie; the world) thus our EP “Listen” was created |
