Artist History The brainchild of Tallisman and Varqá, Plains of Fascination came together in 1990. The group expanded in 1994 by two, as Badí and DJ S.O.S. came on board. The Plains have performed arround the world, and recorded two of the tracks on their album, "Join the Ranks" with Groove Attack Records while on tour in Köln, Germany. In 1996 the band won a MuchMusic VideoFact award, and the resulting video for, "MindMeld" reached regular rotation in Canada. P.O.F. is well known for positive, uplifting, spiritually inclined lyrics, and laid back- super groovy tracks. Almost unknown (until now) is the fact that Nelly Furtado's first professional recording experience was with Plains of Fascination! Nelly sings on the track "Waitin'4 the Streets" ( now available again at mp3.com) Everyone in the studio was blown away by the prowess of this 17 year old songstress, who then went on to record her first demo with tracks produced by Tallisman. The duo, under the moniker nelstar* won a MuchMusic vidoefact award, and shot a video for an unreleased track called "Like."
