Artist History
Two time Lilith Fair finalist Marsia Shuron Harris has a unique presence and musical style. Her voice is penetrating and not easily forgotten. Her soulful vocals and special blend of SoulRock and SoulFolk, sets her music apart from the normal singer/songwriter fare. Marsia Shuron has a sound of her own. Debuting with a seven piece band at the Hatch Shell on the Boston Esplanade, Marsia was immediately welcomed into Boston's active acoustic music scene where she quickly gained popularity, being sought out by both radio and television for live broadcasts. WERS's Stephanie Mulica deemed her, "one to watch." Opening for Martin Sexton at Christopher's(Toad), a hub for Boston's promising and rising songwriter's, soon led to her selling out shows of her own. She later joined forces with fellow singer/songwriter Adrienne and formed the duo Aye. Marsia has since performed solo and with Aye at numerous clubs and coffeehouses. Places such as the Bitter End, The Middle East Cafe, Club Passim and Club Metronome to name a few. She has also performed at Colleges and Festivals throughout the Northeast. Being an opening act for recording artists such as Me'shell Ndegeocello, Canada's Moxy Fruvous, Martin Sexton, Jeb Loy Nichols and others, has fueled her already powerful stage presence. With songs that range from soulful ballads to groove ladden rock-n-roll, Marsia Shuron is a talent worth checking out. She has sung on a variety of recording projects including an interactive theatre exhibit, produced by Peace River Films and has co-written songs for a national curriculum program entitled "Staying out of the Risky Zone," produced by RZI of Maine. A lover of the Arts, Marsia graduated from the Art Institute of Boston/Lesley University. She continues to explore the Visual arts but finds her songwriting gets most of her creative time. Having dedicated the last several years to Aye, an eclectic SoulFolk duo, where she sings, plays guitar, piano and conga drums; Marsia is currently working on a solo record to be released in the near future. Boston Women's Voice says, "on stage she's magic" A promising artist, Marsia Shuron Harris is certainly........., "one to watch." |
