Artist description
A wide range of bands and artists influence this work. Faithful to his Dark-Wave’s background, the sound of Hirochimiq is more inspired by innovative bands as Einsturzende Neubauten, Legendary Pink Dots, The Young Gods, Autechre, Die Form and Belgian projects as Ambre, Imminent (Starvation)...
John Cult is actually working on his first album and will include some participation of both classical musicians (as Absynthe did in concerts) and artists from the Dark and Underground scene. The icy voice and the typical atmosphere of Absynthe will probably taint this first opus with a radical change on the general approach of sounds and compositions.
“Helicorn” is one of the older compositions of Hirochimiq that features all the ingredients of this new project: hegemony of original samples, electronic grooves and dark atmospheric ambiences.

Artist History
Very active in the underground scene John Cult founded “Hirochimiq” in 2000. Formerly a side-project of the Belgian band “Absynthe”, “Hirochimiq” labelled the more instrumental compositions that didn’t correspond to the dark-wave touch of Absynthe.
After the split of Absynthe, Hirochimiq became the main project of John Cult leading this in a pure electronic and experimental way: dark ambient, electronica, trip-hop…
