Artist description
Dave Tamkin has created his own unique style of
rhythmic-acoustic rock that's based around a fresh
musical vision. His shows vary from intimate solo
acoustic performances to a full band experience
incapsulating a mixture of personal lyrics and skilled
songwriting set against a high-energy percussive
backbone.
Tamkin has a style that's hard to resist. His lyrics
are unabashedly honest and his passion for playing is
undying. Dave sings and plays with emotion not
commonly seen in the music world these days. He is
currently playing his original music with the PPC, a
lively and energetic band invented by percussionists
Tim Piatek and Jason Racutt. The lineup is filled up
with solid local musicians Slim (bass), Ted Mielas
(guitar) and Jason Vanluen (violin). When all are
present, the PPC create a distinct sound that is equal
parts sonic percussive assault mixed with a vivid,
melodic instrumental bed, shaken with a twist of
passionate vocal lines. Most of these friends
grace Dave's EP with their fresh musical
interpretations.
Dave Tamkin and The PPC have been
developing as musicians by continuing writing songs
and expanding arrangements together, all while
embracing a committed fan base that has continued to
grow steadily over the past 8 years. Those in
attendance at their shows bear witness to a unique
stage show that bursts at the seams with positive
energy.
Dave Tamkin and the PPC have sold 1,ooo copies of "...if you will"
since its release in April of 2002.
The unique marriage of Dave Tamkin and the PPC creates not
only a aural landscape teaming with new musical ideas,
but presents the band as a visually entertaining live
act; one that should not be missed.
