Artist description Waiv is an outlet for us musically.We'd done some much more commercially oriented music where it caused some artistic tensions(arguments) within the band.We're always torn at that point between commercial viability and artistic integrity.We try to balance both without comprising too much. The band was starting to break up at that time when suddenly we just decided to record this album.I really think we vented a lot emotionally in this music and in the end we were happy about the result.Out of it all came an expression of how many great artists have inspired us over the years. This is the sort of music we find the critics might call a little dated in it's sound,you just need to reference our influences to see why,but people who hear it tend to like it.We get a lot of compliments and that's probably the most pleasing thing in the final analysis. - Ken

Artist History The band "Waiv" was founded in early 2001 by Guitarist/Vocalist Ken Harding,Guitarist Cliff Rideout and Drummer Ed Hering as an experiment in blending thier many styles of musical influence ranging from Pink Floyd to Black Sabbath and Jethro Tull,whom have influenced thier musical styles over the years.. They immidiately set to work recording thier debut album "Hurricane at midnight" which was completed in July of 2001.This album features a classic sound with a unique modern edge,establishing Waiv as a presence not quite like any other on the rock landscape today. Waiv is the culmination of it's member's collective musical experience working both together and in various other bands for over 15 years.Due to this familiarity with one another's playing styles,both live and in the studio,Ken,Cliff and Ed have been able to mesh thier individual contributions into a musical whole which is truly greater than the sum of it's parts. We're proud to present the music of Waiv and hope you'll enjoy joining us for this outstanding musical experience.
