Artist History
Silence Erebus is a new metal band from New England formed late 2000, by Josh Joseph, Tom Sly, and Corey Gomes. The trio, from Woonsocket, RI, had recently lost their bassist to college and were searching for a drummer. The group posted and advertisement on justanotherscene.com and recieved a response from Mike "Maggot" Teixeira, who hails from Revere, MA. Silence Erebus was formed featuring childhood friends, Joseph and Sly on guitars, Mike on drums and Corey as the vocalist. Influenced by a lot of black metal, death metal, classical, and metalcore, Silence Erebus composed three complete songs that were recorded as their demo June 2001. Corey Gomes was forced to leave the band months later. Silence Erebus picked up Sean Unburied for vocals to record the new March 2002 demo (both songs available on mp3.com). Silence Erebus moved to Michigan in July and now has a female vocalist, Winter. Currently the band seeks a permanent bassist.
