Artist History
We started in September 1996, with the intention of performing for our local faculty’s dinner and dance. We’ve been an item of that annual event since, doing cover songs from contemporary alternative rock. There were some original stuff written at that period of time, Cut Your Grass was written in 1998, but nothing prolific. I guess we were happy enough at that period just staying the way we were. At that point we called ourselves 3DN (pronounced threeden).
Outside of the faculty we also participated in the NUS Jam and Hop band competition of 1997, whereupon we got duly disqualified for unruly behaviour on stage (every band has an adolescent period) performing Aneurysm by Nirvana. We also did a performance in Lido in 1998 for a Ministry of Environment thingy.
Things have changed radically now. Our bassist is working and our rhythm and lead guitarist have just graduated. You could say we’ve reached a point of questioning that brought the need for the band to move into a more serious place. We’ve had 6 years of experience behind us and we weren’t prepared to let that go to waste.
What followed after 2 weeks of intensive songwriting and discussion: a new band, a new name, a spanking new website and a demo. Where are we going to go from there? |
