Press Reviews
(Taken from Music Connection Magazine March 4, 2002 ) Bringing back soul/funk with a message from the seventies, Preston creates a boogie down rock & roll mix designed for a live setting . Equal parts Black Crowes and Tower of Power ,this six-piece comes together to get people on the dance floor with a thumping groove that rarely lays off. And while hips shake, Fogarty takes things a little deeper with a socially conscious lyrics about knowing and loving " your brother and sisters," making sure the words don't take a backseet to the rhythm. Mixing up old-school soul/funk with nineties trad-rock, Preston is the type of band that thrives when performing live in front of a dancing crowd. Knowing when to take a step back and when to really lay it on, this six-piece absolutely flies when they lock into each other. This is a band with direction and the musicianship to make their retro sound work. - Albert Vega |
