Artist description Mariachi Champana Nevin is a mariachi band comprised of top mariachi players and singers combined with top professional classical musicians, blending styles to create a truly unique music. Jeff Nevin, Ph.D., the leader, arranger, and first trumpet player has been a mariachi musician since 1984 but as well he is principal trumpet for the La Jolla Symphony, subs regularly with the San Diego Symphony, and teaches mariachi at Southwestern College. The mariachi included former members of Mariach Sol de Mexic o, Los Camperos and Mariachi Vargas as well as the former co-principal trumpet of the Orquesta Filarmonica de Mexico, D.F.and principal string players from the San Diego Symphony and Orquesta de Baja California.i
