Kevyn is best known as the guitarist of the goth metal band Gallows Hill and power metal band Avalon Burning. He is also a composer, writer, and a poet. From a lifetime of listening to many different genres of music, he doesn't wish to feel constrained to doing only one type of music, thus he has opened up this page so that he can freely express himself without the confines of a genre.

    Artist History
From the beginning, Kevyn loved music. Whether it was listening to Roy Orbison or Iron Butterfly on his mother's lap or hanging out in his older brother's room while he blared Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, or Blue Oyster Cult, Kevyn was exposed to music at an early age. Whereas at first it was whatever his family were listening to (as far ranging as disco, hard rock, and rockabilly), Kevyn was first fascinated with the high-tech sound of New Wave (Kevyn has had a love for computers since he was 5 years old). Among his favorites were Human League, Duran Duran, and Thomas Dolby. Then, with the onset of the mid '80s came the onslaught of glam metal. Perhaps it was his early exposure to KISS that drew him to bands like Twisted Sister, Ratt, and Motley Crue. Kevyn's metal transformation officially occured when he bought Def Leppard's "Hysteria" album. While at first he wanted to play the keyboards because of his earlier fascination with New Wave, it was Def Leppard that first made him want to play the guitar. His first opportunity to join a band was back in 1989 at 14 years old, when his friend wanted to form a band. His friend already had two guitarists, so the only other choice was bass. Then, his life forever changed on his 16th birthday, when his parents bought him his first electric guitar. At first, it was simply a means to an end (he was still going to be a bass player). But after watching old KISS footage of one of Ace Frehley's "fiery" guitar solos, he became a guitarist for life. Two years later, his first true band was born, called Shadow Lord. It was this moment that marked Kevyn's first collaboration with future Gallows Hill bandmate, Roy Adams. Two songs were borne from this time: "Full Force" and "Ravens". Unfortunately, Shadow Lord's time was brief, due to the immaturity of its members. A year later, a marriage forced Kevyn to cancel his musical dreams at that time. Fortunately for him, its untimely demise became a godsend to him; it was his experiences that inspired many of Gallows Hill's songs. Several failed relationships and musical false starts later (including a few jam sessions with Maudlin Of The Well's Greg Massi), we come to the present day. Kevyn is coming into his own as an artist and composer. This mp3.com page is for his own personal musical expression, and can feature anything from classic rock, pop, industrial, maybe even country. Hell, maybe even a black metal song or two. Who knows? Maybe some of Shadow Lord's songs may find new life here (PERSONAL NOTE: I'm checking to see when Hell's scheduled to freeze over! HAHAHAHA). Enjoy! (and thank you for sitting through this long lecture! hahahaha).
