REPORTS OF ROCK SHOCK NATION
SEATTLE (REUTERS) -Panic has finally hit the streets of Seattle's quaint Belltown district as reports of the Rock forming continue to pour into the news rooms of the normally sleepy district. Residents of Belltown reported yesterday strange whining noises and loud clanging sounds permeating the evening air. However, sources within Belltown have now confirmed that they can distinctly hear loud, raunchy guitar sounds and brain-crushing drums emanating from the area, a sure sign that the Rock will likely peak some time today, all serving as a grim reminder of the terror and confusion caused by last week's Rock peaking.
Police have notified Belltown residents to remain calm. "There's nothing really to worry about", says Seattle Police lieutenant Harry Crotch, "but if you live in Belltown, for the love of God, get the hell out."
Belltown residents have expressed their appreciation for the sensitive manner in which the police have handled the matter. And few can forget the chaos of last week's Rock peak.
"It was like my ass was on fire", says Elmira Fuddwinkle, 78, a long time Belltown resident and amateur bass fisherman. "It was unbearable, but in a nice sort of way." Fuddwinkle was ultimately forced to evacuate her home along with her nine cats. Forensics officers, who were asked to examine her residence for damage from the Rock, described her home as "smelling of urine."
Fuddwinkle Says ass was "on fire". Not all residents agree with Fuddwinkle's assessment, however. Some even welcome the rock. "It makes me horny," says Mike Hunt, 18, a self-proclaimed "sexpert" and area resident. "And it makes girls horny too, I think. When I'm doing some grinds on my board and the Rock starts - hey, the chicks just can't help themselves. Who am I to object, you know?"
Regardless of the wide array of opinions expressed by residents, experts in the rock field concur that there is little that can be done to prevent the Rock, which is likely to peak at about 4 p.m. PST this afternoon. Until then, tensions among the elderly and small animals will remain high. |
