Artist History
A significant turning point in Bruce’s life was attending the Robert Fripp "Frippertronics" Tour in Montreal at Le Pretzel in 1979. With Bruce’s interest in the paranormal, he was fascinated by the audience’s reaction to Fripp’s mesmerizing tape loops. But the cap on the night came when the friend he was with went into a trance during Fripp’s last piece and she entered the dream state while still fully functional. When she snapped out of her trance, she told a tale of being in a room with someone who seemed to be a guide, and someone who seemed to be Robert Fripp, and the guide kept asking her "What is the purpose of your life?"
Bruce returned to Hamilton and bought a Multivox Sound-on-Sound echo unit. Many experiments and songs came out of that machine, including the soundtrack to the film "Landfall" by Canadian experimental film maker Rick Hancox.
Bruce bought a Korg M1 and Logic Audio software in 1997. The majority of these songs are produced using these tools, although Bruce hopes to release some of his early guitar tape loop/film soundtrack work in the near future.
