Artist description
Farcry was an original modern rock band from Austin, Tx. in existence for 3 years. Their unique blend of strong vocals and guitars coupled with a melodic vibe has won them an enthusiastic and dedicated audience. They have a self-released e.p. available in local stores, live, and the internet. Currently recording their second CD, Farcry is concentrating on building their increasingly growing following.
The band began as a musical reunion between old friends. Villarreal and Kramer had performed together over a decade ago in the seminal Corpus Christi new-wave band, File 13. Doing over 100 shows a year, File 13 established themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
A chance meeting in a Corpus music store in 1998 brought Kramer and Villarreal back together , and soon they were writing and recording new material. Starting off as an acoustic duo, they released a self-titled e.p. in late 1999. This in hand, they added a dynamic rhythm section and proceeded to perform throughout Central and South Texas.
