Artist description
Solocory is an experiment. It's an experiment on the brain. When it's too painful to use your usual mode of self expression and healing (playing music), you use that same powerful medium to suppress even further thus causing a serious brain fart into craziness. Emotions, substances and mental states all play a part here, enjoy. |

Artist History
I started playing piano at age six and after a couple of years away from music performance, I started playing music with a friend at age 11. Our band, X-factor, consisted of me playing beats and keys on the casio and Mark Colvin playing guitar. We played really embarrassing concert for our parents in my garage. We had lights and everything. I believe I erased all of those videos…how unfortunate. In the ninth grade we got Jeremy Collins to play drums and my 6th grade nemesis Jimmy Walters to play guitar and sing. I picked up the bass (as it was the only instrument left). Bob's Assorted Bacon played all through high school and were probably known as the "weird band". My Junior and Senior year I recorded various oddities with Alan Lew, a big influence on my music now. My senior year, I joined a "party" soccer league and four of us diverted into a band. Our team name, band name and credo were all "Big Sloth". I also, played with Chuck Jones (Southpaw Jones) as the duo 57 Meriwether Fozzies. BAB faded with graduation and the others soon followed with my move to Denton in 1995. In 1996 Jeremy and I joined Jens Jorgenson and Dan Drinkwater's orig-equip. I picked up the casio again and started playing guitar in this band. In the spring of 2000, orig-equip broke up and I was left with nothing. I spent a year in exile, not going out, putting all of my gear in storage, almost "giving up". Then I discovered, what is there to give up? I began to record a couple songs for fun and then in May 2001 I joined Raoul Duke..(not even a week after a heavy break up). I had once again discovered Rock and Roll! I’m currently playing bass again with record hop and brewing up some new tunes for myself. |
