Artist description
Six Mile Post have a very unique, yet familiar musical style, drawing influence everywhere from the Allman Brothers Band, to the Dave Matthews Band. Forging a soulfull sound that has been missing from modern rock of the last few years, Six Mile Post's wide-ranging sound is enjoyed by the young, and old alike. The twin guitars lend a rich, full sound, while the bass and drums lay down a solid foundation for the powerful heartfelt vocal harmonies to round out the mix, that is Six Mile Post. |

Artist History
Six Mile Post Band was formed in 1996 in Roanoke VA by Guitarist Steve Agee and Drummer Travis Cain. Later that year Travis younger brother Guitarist Jason Cain joined the band along with Bassist Alan Guilliams. The guys played a few clubs under the name In-Exclusion, but eventually split due to work, college, and other basic reasons. Agee, Cain, and Cain continued to play off and on for the next few years. With Agee switching to the bass ,and the band looking for inprovements, the trio hit the local club scene in May of 2000 under the name Six Mile Post. In July of 2000 the band hired Guitarist Chris Linkous and in two short months went in to the recording studio to record their fist album Hammer Down. Playing clubs through October and Novemeber of 2000, the band released their CD in December 2000. The band is currently in the studio working on their second album for a 2002 release. |
