Scott's instrumental music is not meant to be "background music". It is lively and engaging. Listeners will find themselves humming the melodies long after the song has ended. Artist History
Scott D. Davis began teaching himself to play the keyboard when a friend of his in high school asked him if he wanted to start a rock band. He quickly became proficient at the keyboard and played in several rock bands until he was 25. Although he enjoyed much local success with his bands, being a rock musician never quite sat right with Scott. Frequently after a stressful gig or band practice, he would sit down at the piano and improvise as a way of relaxing. The music that followed would prove to be Scot t's true calling!
Now, at the age of 28, Scott has released his first solo CD. He has spent much of his time over the past three years exploring
the scenic Northern California back country where h e made a commitment to put God first in his life and thus was inspired to write song after song. Nature has influenced Scott's Christian style of "New Age", and he has chosen an intimate ensemble of
Flute, Oboe, and English Horn to accompany his piano me l odies. You can hear and feel his rebirth in life and his relationship with God in the music. |

Inundating With Heart, Spirit and Love
The more I listen, the more I feel the magic captured in this passionate, exquisite composition. The music comes Alive and delights me as it picks me up and carries me in its Wonder. This is the work of a master pianist. It opens the door and allows the listener to come in. I feel like I am entering another world; a world of Beauty, Compassion and Love--and I Soar.
The skillful utilization of pianissimos, crescendos, legatos, fortes and vibrato is nothing short of extraordinary. I don't think I have ever been this impressed with a introductory composition before. I could listen to this for hours on end.
LOST IN THE HORIZON is a powerful beginning with marvelous fortes and crescendos. I immediately loose mysel f in the music, letting go of all thoughts and soaring into beauty. The ending verifies the beauty.
TAHOMA is one of my very favorites. It fills me with Wonder because it encompasses every emotion I think one can feel. The skill and precision of the sol oists are easily observed and instantly appreciated. This song has Everything; it is All. What an Amazing accomplishment! Bravo! It blows me away.
A SIMPLE REFLECTION. Hmmmm, reflections aren't always simple, are they? However, they really should be. Th is song, I believe, is intended to help each one of us become more introspective and see ourselves as we truly are. It's a delicate, dazzling beauty.
EMBRACE THE JOURNEY. Wow! This is another one of my favorites. The first time I listened I felt it was the heart of the composition. I for one, do embrace this journey--LIFE. No matter how hard our circumstances get, there will be times of refreshing if we Trust and Believe. The hard times just make us appreciate the good times all the more. Words can't f ully express this song. It must be felt with the heart. Feel it.
PRELUDE. The flute and oboe both perform captivating, lovely solos. This is a legato with Heart, introducing "January."
JANUARY. This is the best piece in my opinion, showcasing the tal ents of each soloist one at a time yet all flowing together effortlessly. The piano playing reminds me of the way Wayne Gretzky played hockey. By assisting others humbly, he proves himself great. Full of Heart, Joy, and Love, it Astonishes me. The song m akes me feel that after many years of seeking, WE WILL BEGIN ANEW (January) with Passion and Joy in our mission in this life. We will indeed "embrace the journey" fully. We will never completely understand everything in this life, but with Trust and Faith WE WILL OVERCOME. BELIEVE IT! This piece entirely blows me away.
SCHERZO is something any musician will appreciate. What a technically challenging solo! Can he play that with only two hands? Ha. I think this represents what the artist has learned and hopes the listeners do as well: Happiness, Peace, Joy and Contentment. Displaying lightheartedness, energy and vitality along with introspective moments it is extremely engaging. The guy has talent. Hats off to Scott!
I am already anxiously awaiting m ore from this artist. I'm hooked. There is no limit to what he can do. I give this my highest recommendation.
