Artist History
Pseudo Star was a punk band from an inner city of Los Angeles,
El Monte, CA. they were formed in the heated political environment
of Pete Wilson and proposition 187. They were together for 5 years
in the late 90's (95-2000). Their music was heavily influenced by
such bands as The Clash, Operation Ivy, and Rancid. All members being
of Mexican decent they started their first gigs playing benefit shows for
local organizations such as Food not Bombs. Their style was a throw
back to the socially conscious sounds of early punk rock. Being
compared to bands like The Clash with a little Social Distortion thrown
in for good measure. But at the time kids were flocking to see
bands like blink 182 who preached a completely different view of
punk rock. Pseudo Star was a band born too late. After 5 years of
constant gigging, playing with such bands as FEAR and Los Infernos,
the guys decided to hang it up. These are a few of their songs from their
first and only CD on Justified Records.
