Artist description
Lilac Ambush are a couple of outcasts, er- cast-a-ways from Fishtown, Massachusetts. An alarming tonic for the "Modern Rock/Classic Rock" overdose. The two noise-ists that comprise the band somehow manage to get all of their instruments to perform mostly proper sounds that they categorize (as people insist on doing in these times) as "Dark Pop." They prefer to create music that can be enjoyed with body movements on a dance floor, rather than on a barstool. Their lyrics are not shouted with teenage rage or manipulated beyound recognition, since they are as important as the music. Mark's vocals can vary from a soothing breeze to a match being struck against concrete. Spleen walks the fine line between cartoon character & stick figure, while his guitar style and tunings poke fun at tradition. |

Artist History
Formed in 2001, the new millennium's idiosynchrosies are being obscurred by Spleen Ecq & Mark Knudsen. Their chance meeting melds sounds & ideas from their countless previous projects (Orifice, Celia's Dream, Between The Two) with influences that span the 20th century and beyond. In a short time, Lilac Ambush have managed to compose several songs that could cause even the most jaded listeners to Chantpleur [Look it up]. If that's not enough, then please keep your eyes opened for future recordings; search for us on MP3.com & log on to lilacambush.com to find out what they are up to. |
