    Artist History
In 1998, Jim Benson, lead guitarist and songwriter formed FOVEA. Beginning with the first member, Gary Holmes on drums and David Erickson on lead vocals. Then in the fall of 2000, Fovea brought in Matt Deskin on bass completed the lineup. In 2000, Fovea recorded their debut album entitled “A Forgotten Place.” This demo consisted of 7 songs packed full of energy and hooks. Fovea began playing all the locals clubs in the Baltimore/Washington area: Recher Theatre (Towson), The Vault, Brass Monkey, Hal Daddy’s, 8x10 Club, Wyatt’s Saloon, Hood College, and Harford Community College, among others. In 2001, Fovea recorded their follow up album “Blindly Passing,” which gained many fans upon the first performance of these great songs. Fovea has been included on a compilation album released off of Gold Records called the “East Coast Collective.” They have also received interest from various labels including Columbia Records back in the fall. Although Fovea is still shopping their demo around, and paying their dues at the club scene, it is obvious this band will go far with its drive to make great music. You can currently find Fovea’s music and news on FoveaLive.com where they are freezing up the net with the large interest this band has generated.
