Artist History
In 1998, Rainshine’s debut release sold over 3,000 copies and received great reviews. Currently, the band is working with CheapJag Records to distribute their new effort, Fallen Hero. The title track was written as a dedication to the six Worcester, MA firefighters that died in the line of duty on December 9, 1999. Fallen Hero is played regularly on 107.3 WAAF, various college stations, and finished in the top ten (out of 1400+ songs) in the beer.com sponsored, Jam with Pam Contest. Look for the public, full-length album release of Fallen Hero sometime in March 2002.
Currently, Rainshine and Global Management are negotiating an exclusive management contract. Global's work will involve international distribution of Rainshine's work and image. Thus far, Global has retained a licensing agreement with South Africa's 5FM to play the song Anything.
Impossible to capture in words, their sound is unique and modern. Their shows are alive with high energy, dynamics and audience participation. Because of this, Rainshine was asked to be the official band for The New England Storm, the women’s professional football team (WPFL). Furthermore, Rainshine’s singles, Nowhere to Hide and Time were licensed for use in the independent film Nowheresville.
The creation of Rainshine was inevitable. Derek, Mike, Steve, and Rob have a deep-rooted childhood friendship that comes across in both their live and studio performances.
Rainshine has played Bill’s Bar (MA), Copperfield’s (MA), The Middle East (MA), The Rockpile (MA), TT the Bear’s Place (MA), The Lucky Dog (MA), The Alley (MA), H20 (MA), Mama Kin’s (MA), The Rathskellar (MA), The Linwood Bar & Grill (MA), O’Brien’s (MA), The Sky Bar (MA), Lilli’s (MA), Emily’s (MA), Northeastern University (MA), The Attic (MA), The Burren (MA), The Joshua Tree (MA), Chantilly’s (NH), The Red Square (NH), Caf Eclipse (NH), The Living Room (RI), The Stone Coast Brewery (ME), Hammerjack’s (MD), Harvey Barmichaels (CA), The Liquid Den (CA), Hard Rock Caf (CA).
“[Rainshine] is one of the best and original bands in the Boston area. They are going to raise some eyebrows in the months to come.” Thomas Dubinsky, Metronome Magazine
"Hitting the stage to a sold out crowd, Rainshine presented a high energy performance with hook after hook, stage presence, and most importantly, great songs." Alan Andrade, Soundcheck Magazine review of Rainshine at The Burren.
