Artist History
Near the close of the 20th century, Better Off Dead was formed by vocalist Steve Thiriot and guitarist Chris Whitney. During the months of September
1999 and March 2000 Better Off Dead utilized every available resource.
They started out with bass player Chris Martie and added Van Phetsomphou
On turntables. They were unique in a way, they did not have a drummer but programmed computer generated beats on they’re laptop computer. They played many shows around the Las Vegas valley such as UNLV, Legends Lounge, The Castleberry’s, Caf Roma, and many of the now defunct Dollar Cinema’s. During this time Period B.O.D. recorded they’re first single entitled “why” which was featured on Xtreme Radio’s it hurts when I pee.
They then Continued to record they’re first full length CD recording “Buck Norm”, many other songs from this album were featured on it hurt’s when I pee such as “Booty”, “Suck” and “Jump Around”. In March 2000 the band went through some changes, bass player Chris Martie moved to Mississippi and left a void in the Band but B.O.D. lived on for a few more months until July of 2000 when the band took a break for the next two years.
But Better Off Dead Have Returned.
