Artist description Cicada was formed in 1998 by drummer Nate Goodwin and guitarists Lee Routledge and Oliver Quessy. They began as a garage band and their search for a bassist eventually brought them to Paul Isaak who added the driving low end to the Cicada sound. Originally playing punk and grunge covers, the band started out with a catchy style, and gradually began writing their own tunes. Paul and Lee helped give the group the definitive sound they have today with a style of songwriting that fuses the deep styles of bands like Radiohead with a strong punk energy.
