This fresh and inspirational group writes hooky pop songs that touch on universal emotions with depth and sincerity. They are defined by their passionate and explosive vocals, raw, energized, and at times, ethereal guitars, and deep rooted grooves. Wide Open Spaces was formed by Peggy Carroll and Joanna Justice in January 2001, as a singer/songwriting duo. Prior to January 2001, Peggy and Joanna had played together in two other bands. Both bands played the Tri-state area extensively. Through those bands they developed a strong relationship with Johnny B from 93.7, WSTW. He is currently playing Wide Open Spaces regularly on his "Hometown Heroes" show and asked them to come in over the holidays to sing a Christmas song live on the "Morning Show with B & Jill." In 2002 Peggy and Joanna took their sound to an even higher level be recruiting some of the most talented players in the area to back them up live and in the studio. The group is currently in the studio recording songs for their debut CD. They are planning a fall release. You can catch the group live at acoustic venues in the Philadelphia area.
