Artist description
Underwire is a molotov cocktail of crunchy, melodic riffs, pretty vocals and pounding rhythm. The lyrics are honest, laced with metaphor and the occasional dose of cynicism and tongue-in-cheek humour. |

Artist History
Underwire is a melodic punk/rock'n'roll trio based in Toronto, Canada. Formed in the summer of 2000 by guitarist/singer/songwriter Esma, Underwire didn't become a full band until the fall of 2002. Since then the band has been gigging in and around the Toronto area and prior to that, Esma recorded the 5-song Underwire demo (with the help of a few friends) in May of 2002. The two mp3's "Phone Sex Girl" and "Nothing" are taken from that demo. Recently "Phone Sex Girl" enjoyed 7 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Punk Song Charts at mp3.com Australia. The band is currently playing gigs in and around the Toronto area, and are planning on going into the studio by the fall. |
