Artist History Special Unit 2 is a band created by a chance happening in the summer of 2001, when the allure of free studio time brought a group of close friends together to write a "pop" album. The idea of such an album soon sounded too mundane, but still there was a magnetism toward the lighter, less angry side music. The members of Special Unit 2 all come from backgrounds in the arts, whether video, painting, graphic design, illustration or music, thus explaining the creativity and craftsmanship involved in their songwriting. Annoyed by the pandemic repetition, thoughtless and misguided artificial rage of the poison that passes for modern music, SU2 set out to incite a change and create a style that breaks the rules and redefines rock as we know it. NEW WAVE NEW WAVE. Be it the reintroduction of melody, or the mindful, thinking man's songwriting that have both been painfully absent in the music world, SU2 has synthesized an exciting and fresh genre that proves to become the new way to listen to music.
