Artist History
Scott Walker has had a passion for music all his life. His self-titled CD contains a collection of classic standards, on which he is backed by a forty-piece orchestra, featuring a Who's Who of Canadian jazz [including Peter Appleyard, Guido Basso, Ed Bickert, Moe Koffman, Eugene Amaro, Jerry Toth, and Ian McDougall]. He is also heard regularly on CBC radio, sharing his interest in the history of popular music on SCOTT WALKER'S MUSICAL ALMANAC. He also hosts such CBC Radio News programs as THE WORLD THIS WEEKEND, THE WORLD AT SIX, WORLD REPORT, and CANADA AT FIVE. On Stage, Scott stars in TOO MARVELOUS FOR WORDS, [a show he created on the career of songwriter Johnny Mercer]. He is a co-founder of Reprise Concerts, which presents great musicals in a concert setting in Toronto. He has appeared in two Reprise productions: COMPANY and ANYTHING GOES. And has also starred around the country in such productions as THE KING AND I, THE MUSIC MAN, GUYS AND DOLLS, OF MICE AND MEN, MAN OF LA MANCHA, THE LEGEND OF THE DUMBELLS, LOVE LETTERS, CLOSER THAN EVER and PASSION.
