Artist History
King Friday came together in the Winter of '98 and things really started clicking. Mike and Chris had been searching for the right bass player when Kirk called up to get together. From the first moment, they knew they had something special.
The band had been together for about a month when they started gigging. They quickly became known for their extended jams that covered many kinds of musical styles and feels. They also became known for putting on a firey show and never being pigeonholed into one genre of music.
King Friday kept playing clubs and festivals in the Rocky Mountain region bringing their original style of blues and funk to the masses.
In the Fall of '99, they entered the studio to record their independent release. On a shoestring budget, they cranked out "Blind Man's Blues", a collection of just a few of their compositions. Almost all of the songs were done live and on the first take, with only overdubs for vocals and some guitar solos. This efficiency was due to the nonstop schedule of playing live.
King Friday has established themselves as one of the strongest live bands in the region. Their love of music and playing keep them going strong. |
