Artist description
Not creativity. Not ingenuity. Efficiency." The Detholz! sound is precise, razor-sharp and tightly constructed to appease even the most discerning of tastes. Death-defying chord changes, tireless borrowing from multiple genres, and elements of surprise have been benchmarks of Detholz! music since its inception. Sometimes light and fruity, sometimes full-bodied and dark, other times tangy, prickly-- even irritating-- the music of The Detholz! is a lot like TV in the sheer breadth of experiences it has to offer.

Artist History
Formed in 1996 at a fundamentalist Christian university in suburban Chicago, The Detholz! worked initially as flustered reactionaries. Comprised of 3 music students, a philosophy major and 2 computer programmers, The Detholz! harnessed their inherent nerdiness with deep-seated frustration in their suffocating environment to construct a musical Frankenstein. Drawing from a mutual love of avant-garde music, exploitation films, the Trinity Broadcasting Network and technology, The Detholz! have transmogrified their nerdy rock shows into multimedia motivational seminars, utilizing loud music, mystical mummery and mind-control marketing to move the masses. |
