Artist description
Sugar Jones is a southern-fried funk/rock band,
serving up an eclectic masala of traditional funk, rock and pop.
The 6-piece group features lots of fat, funky grooves, layered with melodic vocal, horn, and string

Artist History
Sugar Jones was started in 1993 by singer/songwriter Chad Thevenot and guitarist/songwriter Miles Sapp. The band played numerous gigs around central Texas and released its first CD, "The Push," in 1994. In 1996, Chad moved to Washington, DC, where he works in drug policy reform. Still gigging and writing music, Chad recently brought together legendary bassist of The Meters, George Porter Jr., with guitarist Miles Sapp, cellist Hans Christian, DC diva Julia Nixon and others, to produce a second CD, titled "Bring Your Own Insanity," which will be available June 2001 at www.cdbaby.com/sugarjone |
