Press Reviews
OBBTracks reviewed: Mystic, OrganicsongMystic opens slowly, with a very nice sci-fi feelto it. Melodic pads provide a relaxing backdrop to the opening synth lines, but you feel the momentumprogess and intensify around the 1 minute marker.Great hihat and cymbal work are evident, althoughthe bass drum is a little too soft... to the randompasserby, all they would hear would be some nice synthwork and lots of clicky cymbals. However the compositionto this song is top-notch and the melodies are composedwith super-clear sounds and effects. Great productionon this number, even if I would have made certain sounds louder/quieter. Although placed under the Techno genre, this sounds much more like contemporary electronic music and is noticeably more skilled than the typical, run of the mill techno artist. Rating: A Organicsong is very reminiscent of Mystic, with the same sounding synth pads, and that borderline pop feel to it. Very contemporary and could even be called "easy listening" at moments. Contrary to my early impression, Organicsong becomes much more housey... it's now Progressive House! I'm sure this song would fare much better there because it certainly is a good example of the genre.Again, the bass kick could be brought up a notch to get that "boom" feel to it, which it unfortunately lacks. However, OBB displays some more skilled programming in this tuneand clearly creates his own little musical niche. I haven't heard much music like this and that is a very good thing:to have your own, distinct style. It's not my favorite style, I'll admit, but there's enough positive stuff going on here to warrant most peoples' attention. Rating: B+ -Fabrik Nos- |
