Group Members
Herd of Blues brings together a collection of talented and experienced musicians. The Herd is fronted by the powerhouse vocals of Big Joe Leming, who's passion for the music can be heard in every note. Big Joe sings everything from a passionate ballad reminiscent of Otis Redding to a screaming vocal that would make Howlin’ Wolf proud. Guy DeRosa mixes the deep harmonica blues tradition of Little Walter and George Smith with his own uniquely energetic style. Steve Kaish and Mark Hill share lead and rhythm guitar responsibilities. Steve's Stratocaster can alternately be heard screaming and weeping, but it's always apparent that each note comes not from the fingers but from deep within the soul. Mark's wizardry on the slide guitar and more country bent to soloing complements the band nicely. The band features a solid-as-a-rock rhythm section. Rockin' Dino Colarocco's bass guitar combines a seamless bottom end with a nice touch of funk. On the drums, Joe Ricci rounds out the line-up with a beautiful sense for groove and taste. |
