Artist History CRASH LANDON was formed when singer/guitarist Chris Landon decided to "do his own thing". Having been in two established Bay Area bands (ShovelHead, Squeeze the Dog), he wanted to form a band around himself, instead of being the last piece to the puzzle. Having won a Bay Area Music Award (best club act), toured the West Coast, contributed to multiple-recordings and won a spelling bee, he decided the time was right. With a little push from bass player Sean Pike (Squeeze the Dog) they booked a show. With a week to go they found drummer Dave Ray (Jalopy Taco-Stand). They quickly built a set around Chris's passion-lit vocals and driving acoustic rhythm. Utilizing songs Chris had written, Sean (bass) added a boomin' bottom, built from years of studying world class bassists. With scary ease, drummer Dave threw down flowing drum-beats that made the other two a little too excited. What they heard and from the reaction of their already in-place fan base, pushed them to get serious. Songs flowed, jams inspired, they had the desire. With everything seemingly in place, they happened upon keyboardest extraordinaire, Juan Soria. Juan grew up playing soul, jazz and gospel. The three were blown away by his free-flowing form and asked him to join. Juan made an impressive impact, giving them a full-flavored sound they never expected. CRASH LANDON recently recorded their first demo and were extremely pleased by the outcome. What they produced surpassed their expectations. They look forward to recording their full length EP. Their sound is influenced by many styles: roots, jazz, punk, soul, blues, surf, classical, metal, gospel, reggae. Some say they sound like a dirty Dave Matthews. Whatever . . . Their sound, it seems, is indefinable. You may hear flavors of Stevie Wonder, Jaco Pastorius, the Police or Dick Dale. Expect to experience heartfelt vocals, flowing bass and keys, driving guitar and infectious drumbeats all wrapped up in the package that is CRASH LANDON. With more time and funds there's no limit to what these boys can do. Yee Hoo!
