Artist description
Grand Theft Autumn is proud to announce the first full-length from the Milwaukee four-piece CAMDEN, entitled "reel time canvas". This Post-emo/neo-space-pop outfit sounds like a whirlpool of the early 90's Creation records roster, and would've fit right in nicely with bands like Ride and the psychedelia of Chapterhouse and Slowdive. Much of the fine results are due to the fact that it towers in both sound and harmony over their 1999 self-titled EP. Produced and recorded by Death Cab For Cutie guitarist Chris Walla, "reel time canvas" is an amazing exercise in musicianship, combining fragmented pop with experimental production schemes.William Seidels' wonderfully angelic, breathy crooning adds to the overall impression of the album with is opening strains and unadulttered Morrissey-isms. Camden has created an unpredictable atmospheric rock sound complete with sonic guitars, majestic pop-hooks, and melancholic cryptic songwriting.. A stormy gust of moody song and sound augmented with occasional electronic samples, tape loops, and indie-magic.. adding delicacy and struggle. For more information about CAMDEN check their official |
