Artist description
Andrew Kerr delivers tightly woven stories and catchy melodies with a healthy dose of sarcasm and wit. Andrew started his performing career doing stand-up comedy in college, and from the moment he steps on stage, this is apparent. His live shows are high-energy and interactive, and have been described as a folk-rock-comedy blend. |

Artist History
In 1997, Andrew relocated to San Francisco from his hometown of New York City. Prior to moving west, he hosted the open mic and booked a monthly showcase at the Fast Folk Café in New York City. He was also the host of the annual Fast Folk Magazine Revue, recorded live at The Bottom Line in 1997. Andrew has had success in his new hometown as well, winning the Best Song Award at the Northern California Songwriters Association (NCSA) Open Mic twice, Best Performer four times, and being asked to perform at the 1998 NCSA conference.
Currently, Andrew is touring nationally, playing rooms like The Freight & Salvage (Berkekey, CA), The Sweetwater (Mill Valley, CA), Madison’s Café (Seattle, WA), The Bitter End (NYC), and Club Passim (Cambridge, MA). His songs have been played on radio stations across the country including KPFA (San Francisco, CA), KKUP (Santa Clara, CA), KAZU (Monterey, CA), KBUT (Crested Butte, CO), WCUW (Worcester, MA) and WXPN (Philadelphia, PA), in addition to one small station in Croatia that found him over the Internet(woo hoo!). He is also featured on the New York City sampler CD, Alternative Folk.
In June, 1999, Andrew released his second CD, Ain’t it Strange on his independent label Yo Brooklyn! Music. It was produced by Adam ‘Bagel’ Berkowitz and Cole Tate and features many of the San Francisco Bay Area’s best studio musicians.
